if u dont use light, the plant can't survive for long..
u might want to invest some money to get a smaller but complete tank, rather than a big tank without essential equipment..

Direct sunlight would give you green water... artificial lighting would give you more control. Maybe put your tank a little distance away from the direct sunlight and have money plants instead. Sort of like a pond if you're creative to hide the tub.

oh ic , i have blinds on my window so i can control the amount of sunlight that the plant receives would that be okay? cause i dont seem to have much space around my room. and instead of a big money plant to make it look like a pond what would u suggest for something simple , just afew plants and shade nothing to big? thanks alot guys and sorry for all my trouble.

For your tub, perhaps you can try some plants emersed and some moss, ferns or hornwort in the water?

I did something like that but using glass tanks. See http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...ad.php?t=22668
