Feedback on Dennerle Cyclo Turbo 500 CO2 Reactor

Anyone has got experience with the above-mentioned? Is it effective compared to those Taiwanese made reactor with reactor balls?

I've been checking out the unit at Nature Aquarium. It looks rather nice and transparent to be easily hidden from view. The only drawback is the price tag.

Would appreciate any comments on the unit.

the dennerle reactors are not too bad...but for the size of your tank, you may need the longer ones from dennerle. However I do noticed that this reactor does not work well with small capacity canister filter.

If you are paying for the price, perhaps you may want to shop around and take a look at the Dupla or Bioplast reactors...

the taiwanese made reactor i got from NA broke down. the airstone broke off from the main body and got the reactor ball stuck. leaving it there for the time being until i get another reactor.

I've been using the cyclo turbo 5000 for the last 3 years and i must say I'm very happy with the results. The 5000 is just a slightly longer version of the 500. If you check the price tags, you'll find they are not that far apart either, so you might wanna consider a 5000.

Anyway, I think the 5000 is well designed and very efficient. In fact I've yet to exceed 2.5 bps on my 5ft tank...

David, I'll check out the reactors from Bioplast and Dupla. My canister filter is Atman 3338 and it has plenty of punch. Do you know where can I check out Dupla range of reactors?

Stormhawk, I've got the same reactor as yours. Bought from NA too and the airstone broke off the main body within an hour of use. Still works but should have saved $2 for the none air-stone model if I knew the airstone is so filmsy.

Allen, I'm also considering the 5000 model. It's longer so I suppose more time for the CO2 to "react". Like you said it costs about $10 more than the 500. The "problem" with my reactor is I need about 5 bps to achieve CO2 level of 10-25 ppm in my 5 ft tank. Also, CO2 doesn't dissolved completely.

I can only say that I doubt you will need that high a bubble rate if using the cyclo 5000

click on the CO2 system and you will see all dupla's CO2 hardware goodies!

you will see the two models which are the reactor 400 and reactor S...if I am not wrong (you may want to check with aquatechnik) the reactor 400 is internal while the reactor S can be externally mounted

roy, u will be better off getting the bioplast or the dupla, the cyclo, IMO, is way too fat seen the dupla reactor, slim and easier to hide

I am using both the cyclo 5000 and bioplast reactor and I have to say that the cyclo is way better that the bioplast.

Went to check out the Bioplast reactor but out-of-stock right now. Stock expected to arrive in some weeks or months - can't remember which is which.

Anyway, bought the Dennerle Cyclo Turbo 5000. Not fat, as Simon says, but not small either. However, can be easily hidden in the corner behind my Amazon Swords.

the dennerle one is fat compared to the Dupla reactor 400.......the Dupla ones are very slim...performance ...i am not too sure...so far i am using the Dennerle and no complains......just that again they dont perform well with small capacity canisters
