This reminds me of another similar but different scenario; my girlfriend's father stopped eating Sri Lankan crabs after the last big tsunami.
Reason? He's a seafood hawker, and he noticed that the batch of Sri Lankan crabs were larger after the tsunami, probably fattened up by eating human corpses....

Please make conservation for this species. There are very rare they scavenging partially burnt corpses along the Great Kali river to improve the ego system, which flows along the India-Nepal border.
Let hope this researchers are working to determine if the catfish are feeding on humans, but the locals seem convinced. But please think they are the living life same as us
Well anything human touch and know in nature we can say BYE BYE.
The only way this species can survive is there be a bloody war happening and no one bothers them.
