I guess you can trim all the stem plants at the back. Depending on how bushy you want your plants to be, i think you can trim at half or lower part of the stem.

Re: WiNd08's new 4x1.5x1.5 planted setup

Revamped!! removed the super haywire plant Limnophila aromatica

changed by gradient concept to a 'V' or 'empty in the middle' concept haah!

i added at the back, Echindorus Barthii now still a little short to be seen and some Echindorus Oriental. just hope that they would grow slightly taller than the Cryptocorne wendtii in front of it so as to give it a little 'layering' effect'.

removed all my glosso except those which are deeply rooted and added A LOT of Echindorus tenellus to cover up my badly done foreground, added Cryptocorne parva on the left foreground (trying them out as i got good experience with all my giantantic wendtii )

all are known to be rather low maintainance plants so i'll keep my fingers crossed for the best results

now, let the pictures do the talking. C&C, always

hi bro, i really admire your willpower and spirit for
setting up this gorgeous tank although you know that you are enlisting soon...first you carry the tank home and followed by hours of labour chipping away the 4ft tank IOS compartment, fill up the soil, scaping the whole tank...
last of all i wish you all the best in your NS and hope you will come back to this planted hobby soon...good luck n take care

    cheers

Sad to see such a nice scape being torn down. Nonetheless, may you come back even stronger in your future scapes!

Re: WiNd08's new 4x1.5x1.5 planted setup

Actually you don't need to tear it down... Just get rid of the stem plants so you don't need to do any maintenance work when you're back from camp. With plants like ferns, crypts, echindorus and others that don't need you to do regular prunnings, you just go back home from camp, sit back, relax and enjoy the scape. This was what i did with my low tech tank cos after a hard days work i'm really not in the mood to go and do maintenance even during the weekends.
