I managed to find some time to start a journal on a new tank set: RESUN - Mini Garden (15L)

Let's take a look at the main ingredients involved:

    - SUDO - Stone Decoration (L)
    - SUDO - Stone Decoration (S)
    - SUDO - Bottom Sand (300g)
    - Aqua Soil Amazonia (Type 2)

The Amazonia goes in first (create some slope):

Placement of the main SUDO - Rock (L):

It's really a breeze to place because it's lightweight (600g only)!

I shifted the tank where I wanted before I start on the rest of the scaping.

Pouring in the rest of the Amazonia Soil and the placement of the SUDO - Rock (S) :

It's now time to brighten up the foreground area! In goes the SUDO - Bottom Sand:

    The finished hardscape:

Now all we need to do is add water:

I'll update this journal once the water clears. In the meantime, I'll think of what plants I'll use for this aquascape.

Yes. One of the most natural looking artificial stones I have seen myself.

Let's continue on where we left off.

I decided to make this a mainly moss tank and leave the foreground area bare. The SUDO - Bottom Sand is not suitable for planting due to its very fine grains.

Now all we need is some small stones to tie the moss to. Lava rocks seem most suitable:

Spiky Moss tied to small lava rocks:

I dropped them around the tank and also planted some Utricularia graminifolia (UG) in the middle path. Let's see how well UG can do with just 11W of light.

    Finally finished the main planting:

Tomorrow will be getting to the CO2 supply. Some floating plants like Salvinia natans or Amazon Frogbits will come in handy as well.

The water should clear thoroughly by tomorrow. I stirred things up a bit when dropping the lava rocks but the water still cleared up quite fast.

Overall, I must say that it has been quite a breeze setting up this desktop tank. It only took about 3 hours in total (including waiting for the water to clear).

The Resun Hang-on filter is really easy to hook up and really noiseless. One cool feature about the light set is that it does not have the usual on/off switch. The switch is a knob, which you turn clockwise to turn it on/off.

I have never liked setting up small tanks in the past due to the lack of suitable stones. But with the new range of the SUDO stones, I just had to try them out myself.
It was also very easy to shift the hardscape around until I got something I liked, something which is difficult to adjust for a natural stone of this size in this little space. I also didn't crush much Aqua Soil granules as the SUDO stones were really stable and easy to tilt to any angle without other support!

Now for the addition of CO2.

    Let's see the glassware involved:

    - ANS Pollen 1000 (Glass)
    - DAZS J Pipe

I used CO2 tubing and a little bit of clear silicon tubing to attach the parts. Looks like a little too much bubbles!

    It's currently set to 1bps.

I didn't use the glass cover that came with the set (it's on the right of the tank), but it's recommended for use if you have livestock that may jump.
Here's a shot of how the whole tank is looking at the moment:

I need to tidy up the foreground a little but besides that, all I need is a little patience and wait for things to grow out.

This will probably end up as a shrimp tank. Maybe something with more red to welcome Christmas and the coming New Year.

I'll continue to update the progress of this aquascape over time.

Few Ember tetra would be nice in this tank. The lighting if can tilt 80degree, the light cast more direct instead at the corner would have achieve better result. Overall, well layout tank.

Thanks for the suggestion. There's a lot of time to decide on the livestock still.

The lightset is actually open all the way at the bottom. It's not like a spotlight... although it does look like it!

I'll start the cycling with some small fish. Everything is done using aged water from my other tanks.
