    Hi Daiquiri,

am quite surprised with your 'results'... I personally find that Ramshorns are one of the easiest snails to keep (after those common pond snails)... In fact, they are doing so well in my tank that I'm facing a population explosion in my tanks (that's why I have the constant supply & need to sell them off here... So if you need any, just let me know... )

Hmm... Did you ever measure the pH in your tank? They tend not to do well in low pH (acidic) waters as it may erode off their shells (mainly made up of calcium & stuffs) & will then threaten their survivalbility...

What other faunas are in the tank? Possible of being harmed by other livestocks??

    Regards.

Hmm... that's strange... but I'm sure it's better to check out the reason(s) for causing the deaths & get it corrected ASAP first before it sets onto the other livestocks (Touchwood!!! )

THanks, so you sell ramshorn?? mayb i can get from you!!! Where you stay? Yup! Ramshorn breeder is my middle name... Collection will be at Punggol Central if it's convenient for you (or you may click on this link http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...ad.php?t=42656 for for info & some pics of the Ramshorn I am selling). Or do you mean making it LESS acidic (raising the pH)? Think there are these "pH Up/Down" products available in LFSs or maybe more experienced bros can offer help?? As for excess bioload, the best is to reduce livestocks in the tank. If not, then having a more powerful filter with good medias, frequent water changes should be able to keep this in check...

I observed planted tanks tend to have slightly acidic water. the past few ramshorn I had didnt make it after two weeks. But lately i tried to 'introduce' more calsium into the water by using a piece of 2 of coral chips. I think this would help provide the calsium needed to maintain the wellness of their shells. And currently, they're not only surviving much longer (3-4 months now), they're also giving me lots of tiny babies.
    Hope it'll work for you.
