Any reviews from experienced users of resun CL-280 chiller

Hi,
I am quite an amateur hobbyist thinking whether to invest money in a chiller so that i can upgrade from cherry shrimp to crs.

I was wondering if anybody have experience to share regarding the resun CL-280 chiller, whether its good in terms of chilling power, power consumption, noise etc.

Also any recommedations for a 2 feet tank? Is a TEM chiller a viable option for a 2 feet tank at all?

I've not used chiller, but I do know of friends what do, the CL200 and CL280 models. So far that are pretty effective in bring the temperature down and the interval of starting isn't as frequent as we thought it would be. Both are pretty quiet models, power consumption depends on how long it it running for you based on the temperature set and ambient temperature.

As for TEM, it would not be advisable for 2ft tanks, it is only effective for smaller tanks up to 1ft. Anything bigger will only be able to bring down the temperature slightly.

I used CL-280 for my 3ft tank. Target temperature is 25C. I measured the power used for 24 hours is 1.17 kWh, that translate to $10 per month with electricity charge rate of 0.3045 per kWh.

hmmm i recently saw someone wanted to sell a chiller at quite a cheap price i was quite tempted to buy but scared of the costs involved.. and if i buy a chiller i will be tempted to buy crs and if i were to be successful breeding them, i would be tempted to buy higher and higher grades.. argh... $$$$$

how is the noise like? cos i heard people saying that chillers are very noisy..

reasonable for me, I thing my pump is louder than the chiller but not as quite until you want to put it in the bed room

hi everyone
ok, i've gone out and bought a second hand resun-280 chiller.. but i don't have a pump. can anyone recommend what to buy in order to install it?
i've been told i can either buy a new filter for it or just buy the pump (i'm opting for just buying the pump because i just bought a filter!)

what is your filter flow rate?

on the box of the filter it says: Imp gal/h 48-110 and US gal/h 58-132. i have no idea what that means cos i'm from australia.
apparently i need to get a cannister filter (i've just got a regular in-tank filter).
do any of you know what pump (and barnd) i could get?

58 galon (US) = ~220 liters
132 galon (US) = ~500 liters

In my opinion, you can't use your filter to drive your chiller. Your filter flow rate is too low. CL-280 requirement is around 900 l/h.

I'm curently using Hailea HX-6530 (1750 l/h) to drive CL-280 for 3ftx1.5ftx1.5ft tank. Previously using Eheim 2217 canister filter which is rate 1000 l/h but after through the external reactor and chiller, the flow drop to ~500 l/h. Thus change it to Hailea HX-6530.

Hi everyone!

I'm looking at getting a pre-loved CL-280 to work with my Atman DF-1300. DF-1300 is supposed to be 1500L/H and I found something online that said for CL-280 "RECOMMENDED PUMP OUTFLOW: 500~1000L/Hr 132~264GPH".

Does that mean that the filter and the chiller are not so compatible? Or should it be okay?
