Hi guys been working at my moss tank for awhile right now, have a christmas wall back ground and a huge drift wood with flame moss. now gonna work on the soil, which i think i would be using either spiky or taiwan moss.

Taiwan moss dont seems to be available in large quantity here huh? haha so maybe gonna use spiky moss on plastic mesh on my gex soil base. What you guys think? Or would it be better to use wire mesh?

Hi, I think stainless steel would be better as a moss base on the substrate. I have this misconception that the plastic mesh will 'float' away as it is quite light.

    Cheers!

1 thing about moss floor is that it tend to collect alot of dirt overtime. Need to suck out the dirt regularly. But it will be something new.

    Wish you luck.

the gap for the bbq tye is too big! and they are not stainless steel i think..

I've tried making a moss wall before. Tying the moss by using fishing line to go in and out and in and out of the mesh is very tiring! But the effect is quite nice at the end of it. After trying on my tiny betta tank I've given up hopes of doing for a larger tank.

Anyway, I've seen some shops sell moss already tied to black plastic "blocks" that can fit together to make a backdrop! Kind of like building blocks style. Quite expensive though, like $3 a block. Saw it somewhere in Pasir Ris, some small shop tucked away at a corner of a supermarket.
