Welcome fans of F1! The new season is about to begin in a month time. Singapore will host the 1st night race of the season. Anyone has purchased the ticket yet or will you be watching from the comfort of your home? I know I will be tuning in to the race as my leave has been confirmed.

So let's start the ball rolling in this thread dedicated to the sport of Formula 1 as we get ever closer to host the 1st night race of the season.

Please let me know when and where I can get tickets. I'm planning to watch the race 'live' with my 7-year old son, an F1 fanatic. Thanks.

I will be watching live at home naturally, as it comes with commentary of the race. I think the ticket are too costly for me.

Me too. I would want to go but at the speed the car is going, you won't see much but you will feel how loud the engine will be. I do know on some track, spectator might have to pay to use a device to view the race how it is being telecast on tv. But that doesn't comes free as far as I know and I do not know if the price of the ticket does include that too. Unless it's raining, the race won't be a slow one for sure.

Any idea how does the $168 tickets work? Can stand anywhere less the grandstand areas?

I don't think so, you might be able to walk around those area beside the track. Those open spaces where you can pick a spot to sit and just view the race.

Think watching at home with free commentary, air-con environment, and tidbits are still the better choice since the cheapest ticket is not 'so-worth-it' and the more expensive tickets are out of my range. Shall have to discuss this with my boy and 'psycho' him to watch at home instead - good thing i haven't promise him to bring him watch 'live' race.

i'd hate to think that if i were to spend a bomb on the tickets, all i get to see is just a few cars whizzing by me every few seconds or so...

Anyway, i hope singapore brings in other races. Not just F1. Maybe Camel or cockroach racing... Hah!

The first day of ticket sales and the ticketing system went belly up!
    What an embarrassment.

one thing to note as there is safety barrier around the track, i seriously doubt you can find any high ground around the track for those buying the walkaround tickets. Not too sure if its really worth it.
The Bay Grandstand seems the best deal for $248/298 with 2 giant screen.

Red Bull Racing F1 car performing at Chingay 2008.

Apparently those that went to queue at Singpost also couldn't get the tickets. The ticketing system probably suffer from overload when the world logged in to get the tickets. Poor planning.

    Cheers,

At least the organiser took out a full page apology in The Straits Times due to the complaint. They right the wrong quite fast, very efficient I'd say.

must be fast to apologise, if not more people give up of buying tickets then they will end up losing money.

Watch the repeat telecast of the F1 race just now. Ferrari got a bad start with 1 of the driver retiring before the race end. Lewis Hamilton achieve 1st place follow by Nick Heidfeld and Nico Rosberg. Alonso was in fourth position at the end of the race.
