Fish eye turning white

My female Jack Dempsey's left eye has a white shine to it, almost like the pupil/retina (i think) has changed from black to white. It looks unsightly, and certainly can't be a healthy sign. Was wondering if anyone knew what the cause could be and what steps i should take to rectify this.

Water chemistry is fine and at a constant. Recently i've noticed an oily film on the water surface which i siphon off each day, but it returns by the next. No idea if its connnected or not? Water changes are currently about 10-20% x2 weekly, just to keep things in tiptop shape. Filter media was cleaned about a fortnight ago, so bacteria level is a little lower than what it normally is - i believe this could be one reason why my pride and joys health is deterioating.

but the most common in my tanks is fighting or injury if the fish gets frightened and then bashes into things.
usually I see the swollen eye on the first day of swelling and immediately do even more WC than usual, and it has healed up very quickly. The next day it's hard to tell which fish has the hurt eye. In two days it is healed up.
when I kept Africans it was very common, and never did respond really well to meds, it was about 50/50 recovery.
Now I never treat it with meds and get 100 % recovery ( only about 10 episodes to count since using no meds, only clean water.)

I keep a schedule of WC more like 20 % per day right now, by gravel siphon.

I understand some parasites can destroy an eye, but I think injury is more likely.

Its not a swelling/bump. It's clearly in the eye, as if the pupil has just turned stark white I only have two Jack Dempsey's, male and female so i can clearly tell which fish is "ill" or whatever is happening. Today is the 3rd day since noticing and there is still no improvement.

I shall follow what you did and keep a strict 20% daily water change for next few days and note any change in her condition.

WC is the only solution if you do not wish to add medicine.

a white tiny patch in the centre of the pupil eye you meant, not the whole eye.

Yes, it seems to be in the eye, i shall try and get a picture so you can see. It doesnt appear to be external anyway, that's about all i know myself.
