    after cycling my tank for over a week, i added 15 otocinclus... and already 5 of them are dead! anyone knows why? all my water parameters are stable. my harlequin rasboras seem to be enjoyin themselves!

    Might have been unhealthy when you bought them. I added 4 otos to my uncycled tank and they are doing great!

    9 out of 15 gone !!!!

    i guess it is because of the sudden overload of life stocks...

    at least 20-30 cherries died as well.. tired to remove as many dead bodies as possible *SIGH*..

    at least the remaining otos and shrimps started to feed on algae already..after changing 20% water.. good news for that at least...

    Flora - Densely planted
    CO2 - 2-3BPS for 10hrs
    dKH - 4
    pH - 6.6-6.8
    ammonia, nitrite, nitrate (no test kit yet)

    Fauna
    100 harlequin rasbora
    50 malayan shrimps
    100 cherry shrimps

    Wow...so many fauna for a 1week old tank? The BB may have not fully develop yet. Think you do a check on your ammonia and nitrate/nitrite levels and you may have an answer. Bless your remaining faunas....

    will test my ammonia and nitrate soon. my otos are doing well, finally! whew

    well, i guess i can say "newbie" as an excuse?

    anyway, things seems all well today. placed a small piece of algae wafer and my shrimps are eating it

    no deaths so far, all otos very active!
