It is very high pressure, not sure if plastic can handle that.

Maybe the metal heat up by the solenoid and expand, thus effecting the flow. Never mind that you do not need to be exact. For stable reading, you might want to measure bps few hours after it turn on.

I just open to the maximum, regulator supposed to take that kind of pressure unless spoilt.
