erm don't keep tender plants?
My Malayan shrimps first strip my Tonina now targeting my green wallichii, now top thin leave looks like crew cut style. Seeing them munching happily there....
I haven't intro my main fish yet and feed little 2 times a day. got 10 yamatos, 100 malayans, 3 otos and 6 SAEs. The malayan shld left to 50 by now. Right now algae is under control except the stones.
Anyone now how?[:0]

Remove the cause of the problem...that is the shrimps...LOL []
Leave just 10-20 of them in the tank...the rest is up to you liao...

quite unusual... malayans are usually the less troublesome of the shrimp... If your tank is low on algae typically the yamato are the one which end up stripping the tank. Also, R.Wallichi is not really that tender a plant... its leaves are actually a bit tough I feel.

hi TTL
perhaps you may want to drop in some aglae wafers for them.....tender plants or not, they are able to strip tougher plants like Echinodorus...this is because they will attack the new leaves which at this point is tender...

The title below my name does not make me a guru...listen at your own risk!...
I thinking of dropping 1 part of breach mix with 10 part of water for 5 minutes after will pour in anti-chlorine. Since no main fish...
too lazy to catch the shrimps. but think better not... maybe will turn the CO2 higher for more algae and robust grow.![]()

haha... it was meant as a joke, but I read an article abt draining water out of tank and paint this breach with water on stones or equipment to soften algae after follow by anti-chlorine. This process will let the shrimps a easy time munching the algae.
I love shrimps as much as I love fish, and I planning a 1ft planted tank just for malayan & all different types of shrimps.
