For me, improving water circulation helped. I had a 6 foot tank... tried many things plus trimming, but they kept coming back. One day, I noticed that where my tank had good circulation, there was no BBA. So, I trimmed again and re-directed my spray bar towards the usual infestation areas and the BBA didn't come back.

hmm my experience with excel is, i guess, rather different from the other members here. I ODed excel as my carbon source for my office nano tank. Dosed 2ml every 2 days and experienced no issues with bb or livestock. sakura shrimp and fish alike weren't affected.

Recommended dosage is 5ml for 200 litres daily. My 1ft cube contained about 20L of water, so recommended dosage is .5ml daily or 1ml/2 days...2ml/2 days is 2x the recommended daily dosage, albeit not daily
