Just bought these 2 Sulawesi babes from Natural View. Think they just arrive couple of days. Nice additions to my Nano tank with my CRS and Cherries. Hope they survive. Grab them while they last.

Jus read from the forum here that they quite difficult to keep. But I couldnt resist. Anyone keeping them alive for long? Anyone can advice? They are quite expensive for a novice like me, 6 bucks a piece.

Never keep a Sulawesi but base on what I read, they are best keep in pH of no less than 7, difficult to house them with your CRS and cherries.

they must be kept in a pH of 8 and above.. even 7.0 - 7.9 they wont survive well.. thats what many ex-sulawesi keepers have been teling me.

Hmm... seems like it. Haven't release them yet but seems not good. Slowly replacing the water in the pack with my tank water. They don't seem as lively liao.

You are trying to kill them
How can you put the Sulawesi Shrimp with CRS. They are not in a same Ph level.

Well, I hope not. The water they use in the LFS are the same for both types of shrimps. If they can survive there, hope they survive in my tank. I just a novice. My tank is simple and I do daily water changes with aged (2 days de-clorinated) tap water. In another way, I hope I have "rescued" them from the LFS, .

    OceanSkyTree,

Please take note that SMS language is strongly discouraged in the forum. They are really really difficult to read, more so for other members whose first language may not be English.

    Thank you for the co-operation.

Do a search in the LFS directory here and you can get directions to the place, small place but can get fishes in good condition there.

They are still surviving before I go for work. But quite worry as got a few Galaxy I bought yesterday also. They seem attracted to the Sulawesi and try to take swipes at them... think would remove the Galaxy later.

Came back and find them still doing good. But find they like to stay at one corner. Do not know why. Observed more shrimp swiping by the Galaxies . This time, they are more bold, even nipping on the tail of the Cherry shrimps. If they would do this, what about my CRS and Sulawesi imports? Although the Cherries are not the most expensive of my foreign imports, I decided... to wage the start of the Galaxy war. I am not going to wait to pick up some Cherry skins on the waterbed, that would be !

It was no easy task to be. In a planted Nano tank and with their fast speeds, chasing after them with a net is like catching the ripples they left behind their tails. A call to re-strategise had to be made. This time I called up my good old buddy, OLD MacDonald. He had a farm and with his vast experience, what better weapon to use than his good old MacDonald wonder stirrer. Stir them into a corner and SWOP into the ambush net. With this 4 of them little rascals are caught and nabbed into their confinement pail.

The last one was tough. Seeing how his other comrades fell, he learned. He led me go round and round in circles . I nearly got him once in the net but he slipped away. From then on, it was difficult. These guys are just clever, aren't they. He learned! And he never went near the net again. He had me on my knees overlooking the fauna for his whereabouts for almost an hour . This cannot be, I said. I increased my movement, making him to have no choice but to come out of hiding. I made a bluff, called a feint, stir him into a corner and finally got him after sweating over an hour, phew ! Some Galaxy war it was!

This is the 3rd day. The babes are still looking good. Think they should have assimilated into the tank.

Anyone else have bought them? Can share how is your upkeep of them? Thinking of adding a couple more.
