used to be available in CF. CF even sold juvenile ones as well and the price is cheap too
too bad they're already closed down.
I chanced upon this web site that show nices photos of fishes...

The 2 fishes are called Herichthys argentea and Vieja argentea.
I have a Vieja bought from fellow fish hobbyists at giveaway price and only about 8cm now waiting for it to grow. Herichthys is much more beautiful and I think it is hard to find in Singapore. The fish is very very easy to take care of just like 'lohan'.
Can these 2 beauties reinvigorate our fish hobby?

I Think I Saw In Long Hu Aquarium (serangoon North)
I went there and saw too. The colour doesn't seem nice enough and I also cannot be certain these are the ones.
I saw some firemouths at the other fish store (end side) at Clementi 328 and some are really beautiful with different bits of nice natural colour variation. Just like wild ones. Fish bred in farms are just always the same.

Nice fish no doubt. But they require a big tank.
Yes. The one I have needs a Big Tank, big food, big filter, big amount of water change weekly, big companion. = Big $ spend![]()
Latest update. Still no hump head but a nice curvy body though.

I didn't know there's 2 types of Argentea. Thnaks for sharing the website, a lot of nice pics of some beautiful cichlids.
Kept them before, very terrible aggression.
