if your air pump is out of sight, then take something soft like a t-shirt or filter wool and wrap it round your air pump. This will provide acoustic damping as well as mechanical damping. heheh it also provides an ugly mess if it can be seen![]()

shouldn't be a problem wrapping it up... as for putting it in a box... so long as its not air tight you should not see any probs.

Thanks, Allen.
BTW, is there any other filter media that I can use for my 15" x 12" x 12" planted tank with some fish?
that would depend on what filter you were using? Or are you just using a sponge filter with an airstone?
Allen
I am using under gravel filter. Search through the web and see recommendations on Eden 304 & 316. Can I switch to this? Is it quieter compare to air pump?
How about using a powerhead? Not sure if you need a few for the UGF depending on the number of the vertical UGF tubes you have.

Juggler's tanks
You can use most powerheads with your UGF... however take care not to buy one which is too powerful for your tank (abt 35L)... look for something with a flow of 70-120L/hour
Allen
Will there be any noise coming out of the power head compare to air pump?
Less noise... though depending on your tank, you might still need an air pump.
