T5 VS PL lights

Hi,

I have a question on aquarium lightings. What is the diff between T5 and PL lights? Does T5 emit less heat that PL lights?
and which is more suitable for planted tanks?

If I have 3 tubes of T5 24W light, how much is the total wattage of my tank?
24 *3= 72W ??

Consider T5 if you have a depth of 2ft if not PL would do. Another advantage of T5 is that there is has a better coverage. Another factor you have to be concern is to get a good reflector for which ever lights you choose.

PL lighting tends to produce more heats, and lifespan of the bulb is shorter comparing to T5.. however, PL lighting give a more higher light intensive than T5..
