Escapee Newts

I have lost 2 newts before, no idea how they climb out.

Hence i have since simply place a piece of wood but tank still uncover cos its around 12 inches high.

This morning i was shocked to see my newts in my kitchen under my shoe!!!!

How do they even climb out? It would have to climb up the walls!

they can stick to glass well...

They climb up by the corners, along the silicon.

Their skin gets sticky when it dries. That's how they do it. No need the corner... I've seen them go straight up flat glass. Like little ninjas, these fellas.
