How to install Surface Skimmer when tank has 2"-wide plastic rim all round??

Please help! I have a Jinlong 2ft Tank that has a 2-inch wide plastic rim all round which obstructs the "floating crown" and adjustment screw of any conventional surface skimmer.

Can anybody suggest any solution??

Is there any other surface skimmer or skimming method that can circumvent the wide plastic rim?

don't fill the water untill full, leave few inches from the top, look ugly though .
