I have small insects that moves and swims in the tank. It is white in colour and very small like a small dot. I think they are water fleas.

Can I introduce any fish to eat up these fleas. I have shrimplets, is there any type of fish that won't eat them. How about Neon tetras?

    Kindly advise.

They might be water fleas or seed shrimp, it's normal in a shrimp only tank as long as the numbers are not ridiculous. It also mean the environment are stable and mature. Most of the forumners will recommend Boraras Brigittae and said work well for them. But so far they never do the job in my case.

I introduced 4 Boraras Brigittae into my shrimp tank. They cleared up most of the tubifex worms and cyclops. As for the planaria, I did saw the fishes trying to eat them. But spit out.

If you intend to put in the fish, you would need to provide enough shelter for your shrimplets. Till date, all my shrimplets are hiding. Only see a few of them occasionally. Mine are green shrimplets, not so worried. I know yours are CRS. So better take precautions before introducing the fishes.

What I do is to introduce few new born baby guppies inside the tank, when the baby guppies grow a bit bigger, i will take them out. do not feed the shrimps, else the guppies will not eat the insects.

Thank you all for your replies. I will wait for the shrimps to be bigger before putting in some fish to clear them.

Meanwhile I try to squish them with my tongs.

BTW...here's a picture of the fish that YiDaLi is asking.

Recently, I cleared almost all the feas in less than a week.

This was how I did it. Increase the flow rate of my canister and add an additional external filter to clear them. Remember to put sponge cover at the inlet to prevent the shrimplets from sucking into the canister.

I do the same as well. A word of warning though... guppy rearing and breeding can be addictive as well.

I have a nano tank which had a seed shrimp problem. The population of seed shrimp exceeded the population of my cherry shrimp, which was quite an eyesore. I added 3 white mountain minnows and I think they helped to limit the population to minimal. I was afraid that they would also eat the shrimplets but surprisingly I still get shrimplets outgrowing the size of the fishes' mouths, so i guess its fine.
