I have colleagues who have used those betta tanks (about 6L or so) to house cherry shrimps with moss/anubias/java ferns. With a small table lamp for lighting and no mechanical filtration, they are doing well without water changes. Top up water due to evaporation. Maybe once in a few months siphoning some debris at the base.

, small betta tanks no filter no light, near window but not direct sunlight. I do some water change once or twice a week by siphoning out their poo poo. Sakuras and Cherries are breeding too
