MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!! TIME TO LAY BACK AND RELAX!
A Journey Of A Thousand Miles Begins With A Single Step

haha bro. am willing to take the main culprit (crypt parva and crypt lutea) if you are going to remove them from your tank.

You might want to reconsider removing this plant as it is a terrestial plant; not suitable for aquatic use in as advised in my post:

Here's another link indicating it's a non-aquatic plant:

They caused my guppies to die.

thanks cyruslaguna for the note, that plant melted after a few weeks... am lucky not to lose any fishes for my case.
sorry for your loss.
Anyway, I have done some rescaping and adjustments in hope to revive my Jap hairgrass.
Will post some updates few weeks later if everything goes smoothly...
your tanks is growing well , however it will be much better if less equipments inside tank

A quick update.
Tank after 1 year... My Jap hairgrass is yellowing despite the measures I took.
Calls for more drastic actions
After 4 hours, the tank looks like this
Changes made
- Upgrade lighting to T5 HO, 24watt x 4
- Remove moss tree and moss patch on the right
- Remove crypts that amongst the foreground
- Remove stray mosses and riccia stucked amongst the Jap Hairgrass (this is the worst part, still on going today)
- Added root tabs
- Added many stem plants
This rescape is coming to 2 months, did minor adjustments along the way and things are going on pretty fine.
Will post more pics later when the tank looks more decent.
Please feel free to give and comments and suggestions.![]()
ah! you throw away the cactus look alike moss? it looks very nice man.

Hi altezza and Fuzzy, my mum was also asking me the same thing "what happen to your tree?! "
The tree is growing too much and fast for it own good... it took up too much space and blocks light. The lower layers of the moss are browning and dislodging. My lousy skills with tying and trimming didn't help much either...
Another problem is there are always stray moss after trimming which will end up in the foreground (eventhough I take out the whole tree for trimming).
Cactus? haha... now you sa that, it does look like one.
Hi yongquan, I aim outlet diagonally across the tank, ie.aiming at the piece of wood infront. The wood lessen the impact of the flow though...
yea i think trimming is the worst part, there will always be loose ones floating around after trimming. for me i can't seem to remove all excess riccia after trimming, the loose ones are never ending. but great job on the "cactus"! haha.

Almost 2 months since the rescape.
Have elimanted some of the plants and using only Rotala sp. green, growing nicely and been trimming them about every 2 weeks.
My Jap Hairgrass is slowly bouncing back but having some fuzz algae. (I think it is due to the high light), still trying hard to find the balance.
Day 1
Week 8
my crypt. 'green gecko' is turing red!
also planted some Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides
Aren't they cute?
Do give me your comments and suggestions!
beautiful!!! some red stem plants will be great!!
and the Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides fit just right at the bottom of the DW![]()

Thanks Wind08, I did try using Ludwigia Arcuata but failed
Will just stick to Rotala Sp. Green for now, I am a handicap when coming to maintaining different growth rates of the plants
Yeah, was scratching my head with the lack of transition infront of the DW, then I saw Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides
Anyway I am trying hard to keep my itchy hands at bay, must stay focus... mission is to revive the jap hairgrass.. haha
Saw your tank and it is awesome, hope you didn't decomm it because of your NS.
