Hope my tank can poison you.. haha. I am sure many here are waiting for a new scape from you.
Or you can try to poison your OC or CSM to start a tank in the camp, a planted tank in the mess will be great!

Just when my Jap HG is starting to get back on track, they were plaqued by fuzz algae.24W x 4 T5HO is probably too high for my 2 footer.
After battling for a few weeks, resorted to chemical war by using H2O2, the fuzz algae started to bubble, turned white after half an hour. Dose for 3 days with water change in between.
No causalties observed, my malayan shrimps even came out happily to feast on the dying fuzz algae. Now, they are almost completely gone.
Have lowered my lighting by removing 1 of the T5 tubes. Things looks more stable these few days...
Say goodbye to those pesky fuzz algae...

Betta checking up on his otto friend.
Will post more pics when the plants grow in more.

love your tank.
wish i had the patience,
good stuff

Feide, no female betta for your old police friend there? I recently just discovered "someone" keep covering my filter with snail shell, its an air inlet meant for CO2 injection on the filter which I don't use it. I found it was one of the female bettas who will also follow my hand when I catch snails. She would pick the snails out by digging them out of the sand. Then I will use the pincer or tweezer to pick it up. Smart right?

Thanks, your tanks look great too. Good luck for your Esperanda!
Sadly no female for my Mr Policeman. I am a noob with bettas, heard that you have to seperate the female after they breed or the male will attack the female. I don't think I am ready for that level yet. haha
Anyway this policeman always try to boss around but he is too slow to harass any of its tankmates..
Wow, You have such a clever fish. Finding her a mate?![]()

I have two for my policeman!Must have converted to muslim or adopting ancient chinese way of life halfway...heh heh Anyway I find the female bettas to be more intelligent. They actually can pick up snails for me when I am hunting for them (snails). The behavior of the bettas is almost identical to badis badis, I wonder if they are from the same family. The way they stop, and pick out whatever...

Oh, do you keep them in a community tank and how big is your tank to house 1 male and 2 females? Sorry OT a bit..
Yup, I agree they behave very much like badis badis but much bolder and less agile. The way they inspect, hover then 'attack' their food..
My policeman has learnt to feed a lot much faster. When he first join my community tank, nothing is left after he goes on inspecting the food.![]()

=) Mine are still in 3ft. I have not finish my 2ft so still let them stay there.
=P Quite bad in design...and keep flicker minding so have not settled down yet. 2ft limited space so quite difficult to scape for me. ^o^Y 3ft easy to scape but the maint is hell sia.

wow, long time no see your thread....
Chemical warfare.
My 2Ft not faring any better, algae on my sand. With the shrimps not working hard enough.. Btw i keep bettas also, had a lousy breeding recently 2 babies left.
(1st time trying to breed bettas, using plastic tub. Forgot to take the male out at the right time and he seems to eat the spawn.)

I think you have to take note when transferring to 2 feet, might not have enough room for all 3 of them.
You are not the only itchy finger around. haha. How I wish I have a 3 footer....
Hi Felix
Chemical warfare is really last straw. Lucky it went on quite well. But I hoped I have solved the root by reducing the lighting.
Just saw Robin's DIY worm holder, quite innovative. haha. I seldom feed live tubifex nowadays.
Good luck on your algae war.
Felix

A recent pic.
Has trimmed the crypt. 'green gecko', attempting to teach it to grow "smaller".
Time for trimming session very soon.

Thanks Bro, if your are refering to my crabs idea of the worm holder.
Nice tank and betta you have, BTW just finish my final rescaping last night, vow never to do it again unless neccessary.
Will upload pictures of my wife 2 footer and my 3 footer this weekend for comments and critique.

Felix, so fast an update already.
I hope i don't have to resort to that, i am still plucking them by hand.

Hi Robin, your worm holder is really unique and nice. Somemore, it is transparent thus will not block any light. Most importantly, its cheap!
Hmm... no more rescape? I really have doubts over that!
Waiting for your pictures
Yeah, post a update picture while the tank is still looking decent. With so many stems, the look changes very fast.
Fingers? I use big scissors for trimming![]()
