Usage of surface skimmer

Hi there,

Can anyone PLEASE advise the use of surface skimmer? I always see this thin layer of oil/dirt on the water surface. Would installing a surface skimmer help? I'm currently using Eheim 2232. If need be, what kind of skimmer would be compatible?

any normal skimmer will do the job. however attaching too many things to your filter e.g. skimmer, UV steriliser...etc will definitely slow down your flow rate
