Riccia fluitans is a naturally floating plant so you cannot avoid it floating away.

If you cannot keep up with the maintenance or find it a chore, it's time to switch plant choice.

it is part of the Riccia to keep floating once it is fully grow. With good lighting and CO2, it will grow faster. Regular trimming and maintaining is a must but as what brother said, the pearling looks keep the hard work "nothing". Appreciate what you have!
