    Hi guys

I'm back with a brand new project

Been very stressful at work lately... so I guess an Iwagumi tank will keep me feeling Zen

Let's start with the glass tank. Decided to give Mizu Cube a try for this project. They do take a few days to build the tank... quality wise... pretty decent for that kinda price range.

Although the tank comes with a piece of white styrofoam... decided to use a better base instead. An ADA Garden Mat I bought some time back for an unrealized project

    Let's look at the lighting... 3 x 7.5W LED

    Savings (compared to 2 x 24W T5): $33.00 per year

I actually overestimated the brightness.. after adding the soil... the LED seems dimmer

Another new feature of this いわぐみ setup

These fake rocks are packed so elaborately... not very environmentally friendly... but it feels good and expensive

Quite amazed by the realism and effort put into "fakin it"

I ordered 2 SS (small) pieces and 1 piece is greener than the other. Nice!

Decided to use ADA Amazonia II as substrate. As usual, I will spray the surface of the soil wet to stop them from floating.

Since my 4ft tank is just next to it (and higher) I simply use an air tube to siphon water from my 4ft into this tank. The use of seasoned water will help the tank cycle faster

This was how my Iwagumi tank looks like last Friday... doesn't look right as the Blyxa japonica is too overpowering and rock arrangement can be better.

I rescaped yesterday by firstly removing 85% of the Blyxa japonica (transfer to another tank) and introduce Vivipara instead. Moved the 2 small rock more towards the edge to get a better spread.

Will play with the background next. What do you guys think?
