They're a beauty!! New tetras in your tanks?![]()
The role of master and servant begin to cloud in the water..
ember tetra?
They are from someone's collection and definately not amber tetras. First shot is not fully in focus and second shot has this red eye thingy. They were taken hastily hence the cheap shots...![]()

My bet :
Hemigrammus erythrozonus var. through
'fish farm' selective breeding program.
Nice shots genes!
Don't know what they are but auntie has two bags of them in the tanks left of the hermit crabs.
The eyes are naturally this red, not "red-eye" from flash.
And I like the transparent look too.
Also, these guys are gluttons.
They will eat BW till their tummies look like they are about to burst!![]()

if its red eyed then its albino. and if there are many of them then clearly bred.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.
hexazona · crumenatum · Galleria Botanica
I saw one sole specimen with a "normal" eye on one side and red on the other.
Anything one can deduce from that?![]()

red eye due to flash? similar thing that happen to human eyes?
Shadow,
The eyes look red in normal light.
Just like red-eye in flash photography for caucasians.
You don't need flash for the eyes to look that way.

Seems like you traded in your camera for a x-ray machine.![]()
Why they want to breed this albino fish?
If fish hobbyists want a natural one, can always get Astyanax fasciatus mexicanus - Blind cave tetra.
Oh....the transparent organ.
Found the fish in website:

Its known as Paracheirodon innesi Mon Cheri?
Another variant of the neon tetra as in farm breed? Looks like an albino ember tetra in my opinion...![]()
The role of master and servant begin to cloud in the water..
They may be named that in Germany. Different places named differently.
Can also call it Ember Ultralis Durchsickern Schönheit.
Waiting for official name for this ... beauty...
Paracheirodon innesi is the scientific name for neon tetra...and Mon Cheri is the breeder's name?
The role of master and servant begin to cloud in the water..
I didn't look at them in detail. Actually, i thought it was my flash that made the eye look red. First picture and the fish behind the 2nd picture seems to have black eyes.

Same fish.
P.S. So I have taken the liberty to remove the other thread as it serves the same purpose here.
