why not just allow each of the member to submit only one photo of their tanks and let them be judged.

then maybe there will be something like "tank of the half-a-year" kind of title for the member

    simple

I am not thinking of something of a monthly nature. It usually becomes a drag after a while. And without new materials, it will usually die a slow and painful death.

Closer to what I have in mind. It's a submit your best aquascape program.

I know some have many tanks/setups. But just pick the best one and have a go. No need to take pictures of your entire 10 tank collection in 150 25MB JPEG files.

    Cheers,

Dont mind sponsoring a prize or 2.

    Maybe a schedule like this:

    Day 0-30

    Submission of participant entries.

    Day 31

2 Hours workshop on scaping this particular theme

    Day 60-74

    Submission of photos

    Day 75-90

    Judging

    Day 91

    Prize presentation + scape display

Sounds workable with a few tweaks. That's a good suggestion!

A Nano planted competition would be a great start, and encourage many first time scapers (myself included) to participate.

Scaping a large tank is more intimidating, and not to mention expensive >.>

After some careful thoughts and several rounds of discussion, I think it's time that AQ do a planted tank competition. Something simple, and relatively easy contest registration and submission. A very well respected brand has also agreed to take up the title sponsorship for the contest, which means there will be prizes as well!

    Look out for details shortly.

    Cheers,
