Being able to grow HC in emmerse form before converting to submerse... that's very skillful for a newbie... you must've gone through a lot of research which is the right approach. Keep it up!

Is your lightset securely mounted above your tank?

very nice tank you have there.

hmm, colour of rock seems a little "dull". Is it meant to blend with the surrounding.

I'm still trying to learn here.. =)

Agree with Jervis, growing HC emersed and then submersing it is by no means easy.

I think a white background would bring out the colours of your plants and guppies nicely. Are you planning to add in any more fauna in there?Just curious.

This is a very cute tank. Congratulations and good luck in converting it from emmersed to submersed. I look forward to seeing the progress.

thanks a lot for the nice words, this seems to be the trend here in our place, emersed growth before submerging... lightset is a DIY, its designed to act like a clamp on both sides of the tank...

    will update soon...

thanks... i see your point, but it does blend with the setup... they're the best rocks i could find without buying from the LFS...

thanks again, didnt tried with white background but current setup is already having a black background.. i can see the growth of the hairgrass more... its grown taller since flooded...

thanks, still trying to observe the transition phase... i hope the leaves of the HC will not change much..

here's some photos of my emersed setup before the tank setup:

it seems to grow faster on a clay pot because the water do not accumulate. this just took a month to look like this...

then its transferred to the tank for continued emersion:

then this took almost two months to look like the current setup...got to really watch out for the water pools since this is where algae begin to start...

will update soon with more photos... thanks again for the appreciation... its heart fattening for a newbie like me with low tech setups...

Well done. Very patient aquascaper. Like you scape very much.

Most people prefer the granite for rock scape. But I like your choice of "ancient" looking rocks.

    very nice setup!!
hope that you remove the goldfish fast enough... as goldfish like to eat plants.. don't wish to see this master piece go to the mouth of goldfish..

Wow... bro, putting in goldfish in your scape (even temporarily) is such a waste. Sorry.... I'm not a goldfish admirer. Ha ha ha... schooling fishes would be much nicer.

hehehehe... whatever floats your boat, eh? well, trimming this tank is such a chore... i should have divided the HC from the HG since HG is very invasive and its runners are underneath the HC... the tenellus is also invasive but quite tameable... i'll update with some photos soon, trimmed it well already. hahahh

    some photo updates...

managed to clean up the hairgrass since it has been growing like wildfire as of late... transferred pingpongs to the pond already and starting a new colony of RCS... next photos, tweak something here and there..

    continuation...

some more photos as of tonight...

read somewhere that its better to divide HC from hairgrass on the onset with clear plastic sheet to prevent mixing, oh well, there's always the next setup.

thanks for looking in... continue to inspire us noobies with your awesome tanks...
