Well I do not have any experience in keep crabs, but I can sorta picture how your tank will look like considering its a 6ft tank!

Firstly you got to understand and know what kind of crabs you're planning to keep and what are their needs, same goes with the rainbow fishes. To me its always knowing your fauna first then your flora and setups.

Thanks for the affirmation. Indeed after scratching my scalp for the last two days and doing a bit of studies on paludarium, i have more or less conceptualized the idea, flora list and scape layout.

For floras, i am intending to use the following. May be a bit overkill. So need advice here.

    Here are the flora list:
Alternanthera ficoidea"Bettzickiana Red", Chamaedorea elegans, Chlorophytum bichetii, Cordyline Species "compacta", Dracaena sanderiana, Ophiopogon japonica, Spathiphyllum cannaefloium, Syngonium podophyllum, Trichomanes javanicum,
Aquatic portion: Anubias barteri var. Nana, Cryptocoryne Affinis, Egeria Densa, Java Moss

For the hardscape, I am intending to diy using foam, silicone, peat, sand, pepsi bottles and lapis.

    Stay tune...

just wondering, if you keep crabs, won't they destroy your plants?

    I don't think so...

Even if they did, it is good as it allows learning exposures.

    Hi there

Many species do, most of the mangrove crabs are really lawnmowers (but leaf litter is usually their main food in nature). The little Geosesarma species with us never were interested in plants.
