I have just set up a planted tank with some plants in the tank. The water is cloudy and I have done a water change and have lowered the water to the minimum level. Will the plant be affected and become yellowish? What must I do to improve the cloudiness?

Hi bro, am suspecting that it might be due to a "Bacteria Boom" in your new tank... Maybe you'd like to do a search for more info on this in AQ first... May have to be more hardworking in doing water changes also till the cloudiness clears...

    Cheers

Soil are the main reason to cloudy the water for newly setup tank. Some soil will not cloudy water or will settle down within a few hours.

Just setup could be largely due to Bacteria bloom. Give it a couple of days; 5-7 days for the cloudyness to fade. If it isnt , kindly update your thread.

Actually how long it takes depends on the volume of the tank. My 422 took me about 2 months to clear the cloudiness. Damn sian to see the cloudiness day in, day out but there nothing else I can do. Huge WC doesn't help bro. In fact if you change too much it'll prolong the process...
