Anyone managed to spawn their apistos with the cooler weather recently? My Apistogramma sp. Algodon finally spawned.

How cool must the water be to induce spawning?

I reckon around 28degrees will be enough. Cool water is not the only factor. Large water changes of about 50% can also induce them to breed.

More important than weather/rain, imho, is barometric pressure.
In Singapore we enjoy the closest latitude to the Amazon at close to zero degree.
Our climate and weather pattern is as close as it gets without being there.
You just need to exploit the favours we have with generous water changes when the rains come.

I think not only that... PH also play a part and most importantly foods.. I believe if feed well they'll breed in no time..

By the way celticfish, what's barometric pressure?

After so many tried, finally my Aga spawned about 2 weeks ago.

Yesterday, in another tank, saw quite a few eggs all over the tank. On the moss, the leave of Amazon sword and beneath tiger lotus and even on the wall... Dun know who is the depositor???

At this moment, only one pair lah... but have another female viejeta which I intend to take my time to get her a male..

The other tank I mentioned is with cories, normal pencil, otos and about 10 Galaxies.. Anyway, I moved the eggs to a breeding tank and overnight, mold grew on them

Hahaa time to get more tanks... Sack up your tanks? Find 3tier stand which save more space... I read at how they kept wild betta using ikea wooden rack can put lots of tanks... And about 4 or 5tiers too... Been thinking about that method too but now not the time as very very busy for me(family commitment)

Ahh ya, i finally remember why don't ask genes for help? He's more experienced here..
Here's his link i save times ago.. Hope he don't mind Hmmm can't find the article already... Think they remove it..

For Betta can as it does not required filtration and that is what I am thinking of to solve my betta frys problem. Currently have a 2 feet with betta frys...

One of my bitaeniata carerio juvenile pairs actually spawned in their growout tank, with all their siblings around. Funny sight to see the parent pair occupying the whole tank and all the other juveniles being forced to another corner.

Congrates bro... Maybe if possible you would like to separate them?
Must have a really big tank if you wanted to leave them as it is..
At least a 4ft tank with plenty of hideouts...!!!
