    Hi, folks,

I didn't invite him to join this forum but I'm very glad he did.

Please give a warm welcome to my friend and killifish enthusiast, Dave Wood. Dave lives in England. He's been doing some interesting experiments on "Gender Control in Killifish". Seems like there's a theory which postulates that if you separate a batch of Killifish fry into two's and raise them on their own away from other fry, the 2 will grow up to be a pair. If the theory is true, it would mean the sex of fry are not determined at birth. In other words, sex is made and not born. I don't know if it's an "old wives tale" or "an urban legend" but either way, it's an interesting theory.

    Kwek Leong,
I'm glad that Dave's here too and did briefly read up on his 'gender experiments' mentioned in KT & SAA List. I'll be keen to see how the 'doublets theory' can be applied to other species.

Again, Dave, welcome to our little corner.
I'm back & keeping 'em fingers wet,

    Welcome Dave,

This forum can sure use your experience and others.

I read that thread on the gender experiment with interest. Might be very interesting to replicate that and see whether the results varies.

KL, I didn't ask Dave to join, either, I simply asked "The Madcap Masterbreeder of Northampton" a question. Too late now, of course, but
have you ever thought of a screening process for new members?

    Welcome again, Dave!
