My turn brown at the bottom layer, the top is still ok.
Youhave any picture of your tank to share???? Like to see how you plant your star grass.
After havung planted them for so many years, in many different ways, I'm still discovering something new about them.
Nowadays, when I trim them, I try to replant the cut stem. However, in many cases, i trim them to just about 2-3 inches, about 2-3 nodes below the top, and replant them. What I've gotten is that these shortened plants would then have all the leaves turned brown and melted. I left some of them there for 2-3 weeks to see if they regenerate, but then the whole stalk would just turn brown and fungicised.
In the past, I used to just cut and throw away the top, and when I'm growing them in a heap-like manner, I just trim them to preserve the short bushy look, almost never replant.
I'm sure I must have taken this plant for granted these years, anyone would like to share their experiences with me? Am I replanting them too short?
Cheers,
Kenny Poh

I'm trying to grow them into a heap. However, where the lights are being blocked by the ever growing hygrophila difformis, they tend to grow taller. That's why for these, I'd do a stem cut and replant the top few inches. While the cut stem will start sprouting leaves after a couple of days, the replanted top just turned brown, both leaves and stem.
Haha, no pics of the tank yet, it is just slightly more than a month old. Itis a 4x2x2 tank. I'll get the pics once I think I've gotten the aquascape that I want.

I have grown them into a heap before. Too much for me to maintain.
