Lily, that's a very nice shot and looks big for a month old fella. What's the size now and what are you feeding the bugger? Well done!

Deb, I was wondering about that too! These fellas will swim to the front when I'm "unarmed" but the minute I whisk out the digicam, they all run for dear life! Patience?... urm... what's that??

    Hello Ronnie and Debbear

Thank you for the compliment. The fish is no longer then 2cm and it don’t really look big in real. I feed them with BBS and occasionally some frozen blood worms and brine shrimps.

Well, patience is what you need to take a good picture but in this case, beside patience, you need luck too. Guess I have some luck in the field, just kidding; the credits should go to my newly bought D-camera.

    Hi Debbear,

    The reason why you get that error message is maybe due to the server is not working properly at that time. Try this link again ;

    Hi Lily,
I am sorry but I still can see your photo from the new link. Sometime, the site recognise the cookie that is stored in your PC so you can go straight to your photo. However for other, it might not be the same.

Lily, I'm upping this thread in case you still have the "Ojube-Ode", as opposed to "Ijebu-Ode", which I think should be correct.

You might want to see Wright Huntley's response to my question, "Aphy bitaeniatum Ojube-Odé OR Ijebu-Odé?"

BTW, I've always enjoyed reading Wright's postings and have a high opinion of him... "when Wright's right, he's rarely wrong"

    Any updates on the fish?

    Hi Ronnie,

Thank you so much for furnishing the information. I have two of the above species and of the same sexes.

I am trying to upload a picture here...

    Re: Ap bitaeniatum Ojube-Ode

WOW! I don't believe this... it's so coincidental as I just posted an update on the Ijebu Ode!

If you have followed through the earlier links, it's generally argued that "Ojube Ode" is a corrupted population code that has been carried over.

You have 2 fishes of the same sex? Males or females? Get back to me and I'll see what I can do for your 'Lonely Hearts Club'.

BTW, I can't see the pic...

    Hi Ronnie,

I can see the picture very clearly here and for a moment I was so proud of myself, how is it you cant see??

As for the fishes, I have both male and I must admit, they are very very beautiful, the way they swim, the way they flare, simply beautiful!!!!

    Re: Ap bitaeniatum Ojube-Ode

    Lily,

I tried to de-link the path to your pic but the site says...
    --------------------------------------------------------------
    Bad Gateway
    The following error occurred:
A DNS lookup error occurred. The host was not found.
    --------------------------------------------------------------

    I ain't no IT-bloke... so I'm not sure what's going on.

The beauty of these killies are remarkable and even more so, when males are competing for the attention of the female, during spawning or just scaring off their competitors (flaring, swishing their tails and fins all wide spread). BUT your 2 boys need a gal!... let me go dig around... I'm sure I'll have some good news for you
I'm back & keeping 'em fingers wet,
    Ronnie Lee
