Plan to set up the above aquarium. Wonder if any helpful guys here could help me with the questions below:
1. Where to get plywood cut to the sizes I want?
2. Where to fabricate the iron stand?
3. Have you ever seen such ceiling light at any light shops? (Save my trouble to go search high and low)
Thank you very much.
Cheers,
Tay

Tay,
There still is no picture. The only thing showing is a picture of the words "Picturefuse.com". Is the picture you are trying to link to your own or one pulled from the web? If it is your own, try the above mentioned link. If it is one pulled from the web (someone else's), try copying and pasting the address without the "http://".
Heather
Thanks Heather,
I have just deleted the "http://". Hope it works this time.
The problem is I can see the pic all the time on my computer even after I clear cache.![]()

I can see the address to the picture, but still not the picture. Upon searching the forum, I found some info on images here: http://www.killies.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=200. May want to check it out. But, I can copy the url and paste it in a new window to see what you are trying to show.
Ok. I give up on those servers. Now it is in my own website.
I think it should work now

Okay, Tay, I saw your picture.
I don't know where you can get the other stuff but if you are looking for ceiling lights that are suspended from the ceiling, there are some light shops along Kelantan Lane where the old Sungei Road used to be that sell such lights. In fact, I bought one set for a friend and he's using it for his 5 feet planted tank.
I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the shop but it's almost the last one in a row facing the road. I can't remember the name of the road either. The best thing for you to do is take a walk around the Kelantan Lane area and see for yourself. There are many shops there that sell equipment suitable for planted tanks. Cooling fans, CO2 splitters, light holders, plastic mesh for growing moss walls etc, they are all there.

Thanks Loh,
Will probably be there next week.![]()

Aquatechnic (professional tank setup shop) use this method for all their tanks.
You can find the plywood in Eunos Industrial Estate where carptry shops are in abundance.
Steel stand, no idea, but you can get it done through aquarium shop as the prices are very attractive these days.
Light - depend on your light wattage requirement. If you use flourence, chances are you need more than a set of 2 tubes and you should suspend it as low as possible due to its' poor penetration. If you use MH or Mecury, it depends on the quality of the lamp holder you can accept. For cheap but bad looking, go to large electrical shop. For nice ones, go to Aquatechnic for Dupla - be prepare to pay.

I plan to use PL lights.

Tay,
I edited your last post because you quoted Freddy's message in full. Please remember that if you have to quote, quote only what is relevant. Small little things can add up to a lot. This forum would be a much more pleasant place for everyone if we all take the time to observe some simple netiquette.

Thank you. Loh.

They use high quality thick glass, 19mm for a 6~8 footers. The filtration is sump type and they have special overflow tube (to sump) in the tank which is rather unique in design. Only Bio balls are used. They charge up to $30,000 for a 8 footer.Originally Posted by bttay
Take note of the stand level before you place your tank on it. Plan the compartments, usually one for equipment like filter, CO2 system, etc. The other for storage for fertilizers, food, nets, accessories, etc.
