Hi all,

Please note that the fish that I have been circulating around is Nothobranchius sp aff rubripinnis Lisinjiri River TAN 97/27 and not Nothobranchius rubripinnis.

Any fish with sp is an unidentified species or yet to be name and the aff stands for affiliated or the same as.

Thus the fish that I have is an unidentified species that is affiliated or about the same as rubripinnis and not Nothobranchius rubripinnis. Please take note.

1 week ago I wrote to killitalk to check if there is any update on this species, and according to Brian R. Watters there isn’t. He also mentioned that the important thing is to always retain the location code with whatever name you use.

Eg. If the fish will to be named, say “abc” the fish will be called. Nothobranchius abc Lisinjiri River TAN 97/27.

There is also a possibility that this fish is a rubripinnis, but as long as anything is not firm up by the scientist, we stick to what they called it.

Regards,
