    Well,

I have red nose shrimp from India but did not succeed in breeding them.

I have another 4 Crystal Red from Japan. Is was hand carry to me to Singapore by the Regional Manager of Hikari. He pass me 6 very young baby shrimp but after serverl months, I only manage to see 4 of them. They are just 7mm when it arrive but now thry're about 15mm. Still a long way to go before they attain adulthood. .... The crystal Red will prey on the young cherry shrimps for food! What a sad discovery. That's what prompted me to use my 3ft planted to raise the cherry shrimps!

Oh Eric, if you like your cherry shrimp to survive and hope it breed, most likely you will not wish to have other fish in the same tank.

But i did put 2 oto in to help clean the glass dirt.

Cherry shrimp will get pregnant and carry the egg for 14 days.
On the 15Days, you should be able to see afew tiny white shrimp swimming/jumping around the tank.

Hope this will help those who want to know some information on cherry shrimp.

    Cheers

Like what Teck Song mentioned, the tank must not have any other fish except oto...

Eric, I'm using the australe tank in my room to breed the cherry shrimps. I'll be clearing all the killifish residing in that tank before I put in the shrimps.

Yes, cherry shrimp is one of the easiest to breed. I have mine for generations already where those tiger & bee shrimps had long gone. Just give them lots of moss, cool water(26C?) & if you can keep them alive, they will multiply in no time. There are still quite a few of them in my filter, enter via surface skimmer By the way, I do have fishes in the tank, including gardneri! This shrimps are faster than the fish which try to eat them.

    Gan.
