Hi Gan, its Aplocheilichthys. Oh but very nice fish, must go Plantas and get some. I always thought it is the A. normani.

Can't get a good pic of the adult fish, they are just too fast. Scales will show rays of metalic blue under the right angle. Aquire the fish from Plantas Aquatical & it was only a week before I found 30 eggs at the sponge filter. Some fungus though. Like the spotted blue eye, this fry have such small mouth that they can't take newly hatched bbs. Green water is the way to go.

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Oh thanks! . Quite a long word to spell. BTW, is it myers or myersi which some how appear on different sites?
Gan.
The full name is Aplocheilichthys myersi Poll, 1952
“Aplocheilichthys” literally means “simple-lipped fish”and has masculine gender in latin.
Etymology: Greek, aploe, -es = simplicity + Greek, cheilos = lip + Greek, ichthys = fish
The epithet “myersi” is a masculine latinised form of Myers in whose honour the fish is named. The masculine form is used because Myers is a guy.

This fish are very productive! My 2nd collection of at least 30 eggs each time per week. I have 2 males & 3 females in the tank. Anyone interested in raising them can PM me for eggs. Too many to handle. Fry are so tiny, I'm experimenting using green water & vinegar eel(fry normally stay near water surface). Newly hatched BS seems too big. I have 12 fry so far. Good eggs should hatch in 10 days or less.
