    Ronnie,

Corydoras xinguensis is currently available at Gan's at rock bottom bargain prices (at least as compared to 2003).

Corydoras hastatus is expected in April or May, hopefully earlier. I'll keep you posted when I see this.

    Cheers,

    ok folks,

Returned home past midnite this morning and peeked into the cory tank and guess what? I found more eggs! but this time, I'm not sure if it belongs to the Corydoras trilineatus or C. melini. Doesn't matter really.

Wanted to prove another theory of mine, so I transferred them to a larger container and added heavy aeration.

eggs in java moss with circle highlights

    Big pic here.

This time, instead of still-standing water, I'll 'boiling' the eggs in heavy aeration...

There was at least 10 eggs in there, so let's see how many will hatch

Since everyone is hibernating and oh so quiet, here's something to perk things up.

From my last found batch of cory eggs, some of them turned white and here are a few of the fry, which I think belongs to the Corydoras trilineatus (it doesn't matter really  ).

Pic was taken a few days ago, when the egg-sac is still obvious. Now free-swimming, they greedily gorge on BBS and microworms.

I'm quite surprised to see up-close, that the pectoral fins are disproportionately larger than the rest of the body... cute buggers nonethelss! Not sure tho, how long it'll take when they join the older Corydoras pygmaeus fry in the killie grow-out partitions!

Someone asked if I could 'babysit' a trio of 3-lined Pencil fish (Nannostomus trifasciatus) and see if I have any luck with it.

Heh... he might as well come clean and upfront, asking me to try to breed these! I have some in my tanks but as they're somewhat gegarious and sometimes bossy even towards my australes, I decided not to.

IMHO, the Pseudomugil gertrudae, which I'm getting good fry count, is a better and more peaceful companion.

I'm also searching for and looking forward to breed the P. tenellus and if anyone spots them, gimme a holler. The Pseudomugil pics can be found here.

Some obligatory killie stuffs... I have about 80 young fishes of Simpsonichthys constanciae which I want to see distributed to those who care. Jian Yang will elaborate further on this and following up on another new thread.

The Simpsonichthys constanciae is a species of sentimental value to me as I maintained it while their genus was reclassified from Cynolebias to Simpsonichthys... and that doesn't happen everyday!

For those interested in the conservation project, don't touch that dial and we'll be right back!
