150 for a piece of drift wood? Come to Thailand you will get enough to fill your bedroom with drift wood with those money!!!!!!
    Nonn,
How I wish I can stay and work in Thailand but still getting Singapore kind of pay. Singapore is so small, even the migratory birds missed their dropping when they flew over and that is why we still haven't get the Avian Flu.

I saw a shop selling Erect Moss on a piece of flat wood for $80 ! At least the $150 is for a piece of nice drift wood with Taiwan Moss ;-)

I wouldn't pay $150 even if I am a serious hobbist. In fact it will make me try harder to get hold of the moss in some other means. I have decided the next time I go to Taiwan for business trip, I am going to bring back this moss ;-) I will be spending a weekend in Beijing week after next and I will be out looking for mosses :-)

I would also say, that what is worst, is when they refuse to sell. I have many such experiences with fish shop owners. For some silly reasons, they quite often refuse to sell their products. Perhaps its because they believe they can control the market. Before this forum came into existence, fish shops usually don't sell the females of killifish too.
Their tactic might work in the pre-Internet era but with Internet and cross border travel becoming so common, it is a matter of time before the rare fish/plant becomes common. In the end, the $150 drift woood will only worth $50 or less.
