I happen to saw this info on some homebrewers websites, it says we can reuse our yeast even when CO2 cease to produce. I tried it and it work. U can also check it out on goggles using these keywords: reuse yeast

    Wat 2 do:

    1. Dissolve some sugar in luke water, I used 3 tea spoons.

    2. Let the sugar solution cool down to room temperature to prevent suck back of tank water.

    3. Pour away the clear liquid from your Coke bottle, leaving behind as much yeast sediment at the bottom of the bottle as possible.

    4. Add in the cooled sugar solution into the coke bottle.

    5. Sit back and CO2 will start producing in about 1 hours time.

Not too sure about step 5 cos I did mine at night and the next morning CO2 was bubbling!

It was also recommended that it would be best not to reuse the yeast more than 4 to 5 times. Have fun.

BTW, anyone know wat we can do with the clear liquid? In breweries, the clear liquid is actually the beer and CO2 is the byproduct!

Dear (what's your name? It is mandatory requirement in this forum),

I encourage you to read the stickies in top list of the topic. It will make your interactions here more enjoyable.

The clear liquid is the waste product of the yeast, it is a raw form of low grade alcohol but not yet beer. Only after adding hops and often also artficial favourings (banned in Germany) and cool down to 8 degree celcius do this liquid becomes beer.

Why would you consider re-using yeast? I suppose it is inexpensive.

    Thank you for your sharing.

    Hi Freddy,

Sorry for the late reply, just returned from Bali.

Anyway, I reused the yeast just for to find out if it can really be reused.

Btw, I went to a waterfall at Bali and brought back some moss which I pick out from the rock, is these christmas moss?
