Nitella flexilis, stonewort

Hi folks,
I will be getting a start of the above and am curious if anyone in SG is
growing macroalgae species. Nitella flexilis is native to N. America and
forms a fine screen for young fry. It can grow in neutral to alkaline water
from what I've read, with strong light preferred. Sorry, I don't have a pic
of it yet

KL, I'll send you a pic when I receive this later in the week. If interested,
I'll contact Ben Morrow in Oregon to send you some. This is a native plant
that is popular among killie breeders and I think you might want to have
it. It's like having a spawning mop made out of plants There are other
Nitella species in Europe and Asia but there doesn't seem to be a wealth
of material on the 'net about them.

Thanks for the best wishes! I imagine Saddam's is not quite as pleasant
as mine but there is Penelope Cruz and Jay Leno that share my birthday
too! Jay Leno and I are same year, same day.
