    Hello everyone

I thought that the local varieties to be found in Singapore were the Aplocheilus panchax and the Oryzias javanicus .(Although the last one I think is no longer thought of as a killi) . Then I found at this very forum that the only one to be found there is the blue tail. Is this true? What about the Oryzias? Do you guys often keep any of these varieties? Are they easily available?

    Thanks

    A. panchax is common in the reservoirs and surrounding streams. If you go to Sungei Buloh Reserve and search around the more sheltered mangrove streams and pools, you can find the Oryzias in very high densities. I haven't seen LFS offering these two species though.... probably because most people regard them as trash "longkang" fish.

Budak, howler is from Spain so unlikely he will go to Sungei Buloh Nature Park
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

    Hi
I wish I could go there, from the pics I´ve seen the Sungei Buloh Reserve must be beautyful.
Do you guys really consider those fish as trash? ..I know a few who would give anything to get them, specially the Oryzias javanicus.

    Thanks
