hi bettapassion, for my case, 1 use 1 tbsp for 20l to treat white spot, also lost abt 5-6 shrimp. But the white spot did get better.
Is it necessary to have shrimps in our planted tank? Or some oto and SAE or probably cherry barb will do?
hi bettapassion
i have salted my tank at 3tbsp to 20litres of water before but have not lost any shrimps before (but my would be yamatoes and not malayan)...in fact with salinity, yamatoes tend to spawn...dont ask me why but that is what happened there after. It continued to spawn till the yamatoes became a real pest by striping most of my plants due to lack of algae...
to answer your question about whether is shrimps needed for a planted tank, I would say yes especially to yamatoes shrimps...they are still by far, one of the best algae and rubbish cleaners around.
