    Hi,

I live in Australia and find it hard to find information on killiefish, particuraily on how to breed them.

For example I would like to breed several species of killies, but not have to heat several small fish tanks, knowing that you can't place them all together.

I was wondering if I could have a 4ft long by 2ft wide and 2ft deep tank, split up into equal sections, 1ft wide by 0.5ft long, would I be able to keep killies?
Providing I had an ideal temp, say 18 - 24 degrees celsius and a pH of 6.5 - 7.0, with a external filter flowing water through one outlet and then out to the filter again shared throughout the mother tank.

How do you guy's do it???

Please give me some good advice or a website I can get info from!!!

    Thanks heaps for your time,

    Rainman,

Hi "Rainman" - please refer to the stickies at the top of the forum. This forum is run a little differently from most.

On this website and forum you'll find pretty much all you need to get going.

If you made the partitions so tight so they don't let fry past you shoudn't have to worry about species mixing. I would also put a well fitting lid on each section to stop adults jumping across. Ronnie's partitions are a good example of this http://www.angelfire.com/journal2/fi...artitions.html

18-24C is perfect for most killies and pH 6.5-7 is great for most mop spawners such as Aphyosemion, Epiplatys and Fundulopanchax species.
    Regards
    Tom
