He needs the gurus here to give him pointers in how best to keep, quarantine, quality of fish and etc so he can do a better job for the next shipment (If there will be one). He has bought in the following species:

    Notho. guentheri

    Chee Fai,

We're not experts but we wouldn't mind sharing what we know. Your friend brought in Nothos. These fish are from Africa. They live in ponds so generally, they don't like turbulent water. Some fish shop owners run powerful filters in their tanks. This can be highly stressful to Nothos. It would be a good idea to add some salt into the tanks as Nothos are highly susceptible to Velvet disease. It would also be a good idea to keep the females separate from the males. But don't put them into tiny jars.

As far as I know, Nothos generally don't travel well. On the few occasions I've seen them sold in local fish shops, they were always in poor condition. It could be due to the way they're packed. Fish import/exporters think Killies are like Bettas so they pack the fish in tiny plastic bags.

To add on, feed them well(live food, twice a day). Seen so many of this lfs notho wasted away after all the travelling stress & limited feeding. Those poor fish simply thinned down(in a couple of days) & die off in that small container .
