Surface Suction Extractor on Eheim Wet/Dry Cansister?

Hey,

I have got this Eheim 2227 for more than a year. I thinking of converting the inlet to Surface Suction Extractor, thus removing the "stuff" on the surface of the water.

Have anyone tried B4 on a WET/DRY cansister, not neccessary a eheim cansister?

a surface skimmer will do the trick... what ever filter you use.... []

Yes.... but I have an email reply from Eheim stated that 2227 cannot be used with a surface skimmer, but no reason given.....

So like to find out you guys more than about these..

yah... you can't use a surface skimmer with a wet/dry filter. I believve that benetay had this similar problem. Bene, care to explain?

I think it's something to do with the air pocket during the dry-cycle. The physics of the system is different. Benetay had trouble using an ext CO2 reactor with it too.
