Blue Crab!!!!!!!!

Someone told me abut these little guys so I ran out to take picture of them. I'm not sure of the species of the blue crab and its scientific status yet. I will keep you guys update. They live on mud flat in the upper part of the Gulf of Thailand. I'm not sure of their distribution rank yet. Neat crab eh? Wonder how they survive with such contrast color in the jungle.

Nonn, the crab in the picture should be a female fiddler crab since both claws are of the same size, though I'm not sure which species. Males have one larger claw and a smaller claw. They usually hide in their burrows during high tide therefore escaping predators.

These should be Uca spp. from the family Ocypodidae. The marking on the back of the crab is pretty distinct. Nice pictures though
